Art Workshop Typical Programme
• Hours: 9.30am – 4.30pm.
• Sketchbook, paper and materials supplied.
• Discussions, critiques and review of other artists’ practices throughout the day.
• Lunch 1.00 – 2.00pm.

DAY ONE
Line and Tone, Shape and Form
Morning: Demonstration of dry media and techniques. Experimentation in line and tone with different media.
Afternoon: Demonstration of wet media and techniques; shape and form; space and composition. Experimentation with wet and mixed media; introducing colour.

DAY TWO
Still Life and Composition (with monoprinting)
Morning: Demonstration of materials and techniques. Experimentation in still life composition/scale using different media.
Afternoon: Monoprinting and individual projects.

DAY THREE
The Figure and Movement (life model)
Morning: Short warm-up poses. Exploring different approaches (eg. line & contour, gesture & tone, stillness & motion) in dry media.
Afternoon: Tonal figure drawings using colour, wet and mixed media.
